We are taking care of this little kid while the owners are away. Luci and Cisco took to her within seconds. It just goes to show that even though they haven't been around them since they were pups, they still remember. Cisco follows her around everywhere and chased off the cat when she went to sniff the little girl. She stays in the house as she is injured and can't walk on two of her legs very well. She is one of triplets and the other goats (except her momma) keep slamming her. I'm guessing because she can't move fast enough to get out of the way or they know she is weak.
Here is a story of Willa guarding her property!
"This morning Willa was outside on the front porch by herself. We were having our morning coffee when all of a sudden we heard this SERIOUS BARKING (I actually thought there was some other animal on our property)... Some guy was walking up our driveway. Willa stood on the porch and told him not to come one step further!!! My husband went out and Willa stood right next to his leg, totally on guard while he gave the guy directions (he was lost). We are SO PROUD of our 10 week old ANATOLIAN SHEPHERD DOG!!!" Way to go Willa!! So there is a mountain lion in the town where Delta lives. Delta's owners have known it was there and have contacted Game and Fish. They are just now doing something about it as they didn't believe them before. It has been seen within a 100 yards of the local school and has a cub and is very brave.
Delta (10 weeks old), her owner, and the other dog in the house (5 year old Dakota, an Anatolian Belgian Malinois mix) were out taking a walk when the mountain lion started stalking them. It came out at them and both Delta and Dakota jumped in front of their owner and barked and snarled and scared it off! Delta's owner thought she was going to get scared and was ready to scoop her up but she stood her ground right next to Dakota! Well done Delta and Dakota! |
